Pergamum
To live at the center of imperial power means that the church must live in resistance to it, even as she remains in it. The organic nature of the body of Christ means that Christians must remain connected to the Head, as branches to the Vine, filled with the Word of God and the Holy Spirit. The slightest bit of the yeast of compromise can spoil the whole batch of dough, whether that yeast is syncretism with ungodly values, ideologies that are anti-Christian or sexual promiscuity. Greg explores these themes as we look at the church at Pergamum.
